I did both: renting hotel and renting villa in Costa Rica. And I can say that I prefer renting villa. Why? First, I feel that it's more confortable and private than an hotel. Second, it's also more afordable. My sister bought a villa in Ojochal and I live there about 3 months last year. It's really cozy, feelong like home. I also heard about The Mango Tree Spa (http://www.themangotreespa.com/). Seems to be a great place too. I think that kind of business have a good future in Costa Rica and also think it will be a popular option for tourists who want to spend some time in Costa Rica.
